About us

We are Kanika Hotel Ladakh situated in Leh town away from the thriving life of Leh market but only 10 min walk away. We were actually established in 1997 as a Guest House and had many wonderful guests from all around the world, many of whom still keep in touch. Then in 2007 we upgraded our property into a Hotel. We have a majestic view of the mountains called the ‘Stok Kangri’ range. Its peak covered with snow all-round the year. On the North is the famous Khardongla Pass and to its west is the iconic ‘Shanti Stupa’. It’s a stupa or a temple on a hilltop with stairs and a road which leads up to it. There is a short cut which makes it only an hour walk from the property to the top of Shanti Stupa and enjoy the sunset. This has always been family run hotel since its inception and from time to time we have had other travel agents help us in running Kanika Ladakh. Now we are again running Kanika Ladakh solely on our own. Our family is called ‘Lachumir’ family and we are three sisters and our parents have built this property from the ground up and have nurtured it all these years. My name is Youtol Lamo and I manage this property with my sister Rigzin Dolkar. Here the guest can have an organic farm to table experience from our kitchen garden and also enjoy some fruits from our small apricot and apple orchard. Guest also like to relax in our garden area and enjoy a cup of coffee to rejuvenate after a day tour.
